Core Aquatics are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of anyone using our site (www.coreaquatics.co.uk) and the confidentiality of any information that you provide us with. The purpose of this statement is to set out how we use and protect any information that you give us to manage enquiries or membership to our services and using our website.

Core Aquatics are further committed to ensuring that your privacy, and that of your child/ren is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you, or they can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Core Aquatics may change this policy from time to time. We will, where possible, send you notification of any changes and update this page. We would encourage you to check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 1/8/15.

What we collect 

We may collect the following information:

  • Name and contact information, including email address of parent/guardian (including emergency contact if different)
  • Name and date of birth of child/ren
  • Any health or behavioral issues which we are required by law, or are necessary to manage the wellbeing of you child/ren whilst taking part in Core Aquatics services/activities
  • Photography consent
  • Any previous swimming awards

What we do with the information we gather 

We require this information to meet our legal obligations and to understand your and your child/ren’s needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • To contact you, or the emergency contact by phone in the case of an emergency 
  • Sometimes the emergency contact may be used if the first contact has not responded or becomes the preferred contact
  • To contact you by email, phone or mail regarding your booking, class changes, new products, special offers or other information, which we think you may find interesting using the email address, which you have provided.
  • Internal record keeping (including collection of information required by law)
  • We may use the information to help improve our products and services.

We may use the information to customise the website according to your interest.

Controlling your personal information

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to any third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about selected third parties.

Retention 

All information processed by Core Aquatics will be retained by for a period of six months post the end of service provision, unless otherwise prescribed by law.

All information will be permanently disposed of in a manner which meets industry standards e.g. shredding, where the information can no longer be identified.

We are registered under the Data Protection Act and comply with the Act in all our dealings with your personal data.

Use and collection of personal information

In general you can visit our website without telling us who you are and without revealing any information about yourself. However, if you do leave us information then we may use information that you provide:

  • For assessment and analysis, e.g. marketing, customer and product analysis, to enable us to review, develop and improve our services.

Email Newsletter

This website may operate an email newsletter program, used to inform subscribers about products and services delivered by Core Aquatics. Users can subscribe through an online automated process should they wish to do so but do so at their own discretion. Some subscriptions may be manually processed through prior written agreement with the user.

Subscriptions are taken in compliance with UK Spam Laws detailed in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. All personal details relating to subscriptions are held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Communication, engagement and actions taken through external social media platforms that this website and its owners participate on are custom to the terms and conditions as well as the privacy policies held with each social media platform respectively.

This website nor its owners will ever ask for personal or sensitive information through social media platforms and encourage users wishing to discuss sensitive details to contact them through primary communication channels such as by telephone or email.
