FOSW is run by a group who are elected at an AGM each April.  The current FOSW group are detailed on the ‘MEMBERS’ section.  We hold monthly meeting that are publicised on our outdoor notice board and here on our website in the ‘INFORMATION’ section.

Our main fund raising event is our annual Summer Fete in June, although we organise regular other events such as a scooter rally, quiz nights, Virgin Vie nights, children’s discos to name a few.  We also provide each of the Year 6 pupils with a Leavers Bear as well as providing a special cake for their Leavers disco. Another event, which is very very popular, is the annual trip to London each November. We are always looking for new ideas to keep you, our customers, interested and continue to raise those much needed funds, so check our notice board in the playground, look in your child’s bag or here on our Events Page for other events throughout the year.

FOSW run in partnership with the school and we are grateful, when possible, for the involvement of members of staff in our regular meetings and in supporting our events.

We are keen to work with the business community too and forge links that can be of mutual benefit.  Currently the Royal Bank Of Scotland has been generous in their support by providing matching funds for some of our events.  We have a number of children whose parents are employed by the Royal Bank of Scotland, which has enabled us to access this funding.  We are sure that many other companies that employ St Winefride’s parents will also have community involvement programmes similar to this.  So please ask if your workplace has such a scheme that you can apply to on our behalf.  Our Chairperson will be happy to supply any paperwork you might need.

We are currently in the process of becoming a registered charity, a status which will boost our fund raising even further.
