The commission comes within the Diocesan Vicariate for Evangelisation and Mission and presently supports work in the following areas, please follow the links to find out more:

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
We have a new RCIA resource pack available for parishes which provides background information on RCIA, how to set up an RCIA team and some helpful contacts. Trainings are also available for parishes wishing to set up a new RCIA team. Please contact Julia Palmer for more details.

RCIA dates for the diary:
Rite of Election – 26th February 2012, 3.00pm at the Cathedral
Neophyte Mass - 13 May 2012, 3.00pm at the Cathedral

Preparation material for the Rite of Election will be coming out in the autumn.

Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS)/Living Ministry 

The Living Ministry/CCRS is a two year course of 8 modules (6 core and 2 specialist) exploring the themes of the Catholic faith. It is designed to help people learn more about their faith as adults and recognise their call to service.

Bishop’s Certificate in Catechesis

At the catechist day on 19th November a new course was launched this is the Bishop’s Certificate in Catechesis. This is a foundation course for catechists and pilots will start in the new year. For more information see here:
